I can finally claim I saw the first show of a “hip" Brooklyn band in college, got drunk with another and sort of almost knew another through a friend of a friend of a friend.

And I can do all of that on the West Coast where being a sycophant is appreciated. Hoo ray.

Girlfriend Experience, not to be confused with the vastly different The Girlfriend Experience directed by Steven Soderburgh and starring Sasha Grey, is a film from a Vancouver filmmaker about "a man attached to prostitutes even though he has a girlfriend.”

It’s even fillmed in a “fake documentary" style.

Despite being categorized as indevelopment on IMDB for 2012, the film will supposedly get a June 19th release date. The director’s IMDB hasn’t been updated since 1997, assuming it is the same person.

So, is this the first time an “indie" film has been undercut by an Asylum-esque group/person?
